There are definitions that are pretty standard. I've never really wanted to memorize and regurgitate someone else's words. And it has taken me awhile to find my own.
When asked, I just sort of go to the idea of astrology because that is an aspect that feels most similar.
There is the birth chart and there are the plants and the movements that are called transits and the sun "sign" and I feel like most people understand or get the general idea of astrology.
Human design is a like an energetic blueprint and electrical schematic layered with astrology, the chakras, the I Ching, quantum mechanics and more. It's a blend of and a layering. It gives insights in to things you've known and felt about yourself. Someone might think, why do I need someone else to tell me something I already know about myself?
I think there is magic is someone else looking at marks on a piece of paper and know things about you that they shouldn't be able to know. That is what feels so powerful. That is what anchors me in using it as a tool. The emphatic nod when telling them something they know about themselves. The next step being, sharing with them something about their partner.
How powerful it can be to be told something about their partner that makes them go, oooohhh, that makes so much sense. Was it something brand new, no, and in fact I think any kind of brand new thing that doesn't make sense indeed, doesn't make sense. it is the affirmation that human design can bring that feels more powerful in bringing authenticity and alignment in to someone's life.
The most powerful way I have been able to use it is seeing where my conditioning lies. Ways in which I feel like I struggle to keep up with the societal story of "I should" and being told that in fact, no, I should not. Knowing that there are large percentages of the population that A. I fit in to and B. I absolutely do not fit in to is so helpful. And seeing that we are all a mix of that. The chart is so complex that even when someone is like, oh I'm also a 4/6 sacral generator, the combination of elements in the chart can be drastically different making each person incredibly unique despite the top tier level similarities. Top tier just meaning meaning aspects of the chart that are the most basic, that are spoken to first and are the smallest number.
There are 5 types
There are 7 authorities
There are 12 profile types
There are 9 centers that can be all defined or all undefined and every combination in between (512 combinations)
There are 36 channels
There are 64 gates
And so much more.
This means we all have opportunities to be like someone else and to be different than someone else. Sometimes the differences make the most compelling connections and sometimes create additional tension. Sometimes the similarities can be the coziest and most comforting or the most annoying.
In relationships, I love being able to see and show, Here are the similarities, here are the differences, and here is how to find the advantages in all of it.
We are not static. All of the energy that is "defined" within a chart is energy we in theory have consistent access to. That energy can show up in the shadow side, in a balanced way or even in the optimal expression - a full spectrum!
The openness we have can lead us to be deeply conditioned or it can lead us to be deeply wise about the energy theme.
Human design has allowed me to embrace the things that feel really good and aligned "right" and to really let go of the things that haven't felt right but that I have struggled with because of life experience conditioning.
Our society (speaking from the perspective of someone who was raised in the US) has a lot of ideas and stories about how we should be. Women are conditioned in certain ways, men are conditioned in others, those that feel like they don't fit in in either may struggle to feel okay in their own existence because our society is not very welcoming of things outside of it's conditioned stories.
My belief and my hope is that the more people understand and embrace who they are, the more they let go of the idea that anyone, ANYONE should be like them. That everyone has a place and our society and our world will work most optimally when everyone can embrace their inherent talents and stop thinking that other people should conform to their way of being.
The use of human design is not a way for me to tell anyone that they should be any particular way. It is a way for me to help shine a light on the ability for everyone to tap in to what feels best for them. And over and over again practice what it means to follow their inner guidance and not feel like they need to do what someone else tells them to do. Telling someone what to do because of human design is the exact opposite of what my goal is when sharing this information.
I want to empower you to be more you. To affirm the things that feel good for you and to help you let go of the things that feel bad, are making you sick or burning you out over and over again.
